Great Falls

Mrs. Carrie Gibson Price, age 95, died Monday, June 28, 2010 at Cardinal Healthcare in Lincolnton, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Dantzler Baker Funeral Home with Mr. Bobby Blackwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Born September 22, 1914 in Lando, SC, she was a daughter of the late James L. and Harriet Pate Gibson and the widow of Lemuel J. Price. Mrs. Price attended the Great Falls schools and was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church and a former member of the Second Baptist Church of Great Falls where she served as a Sunday School teacher and Girls in Action Leader. She retired from J.P. Stevens Company where she worked as a cloth inspector. She was lovingly known to her grandchildren as "Cookie Maw-Maw".

She is survived by two sons, Randolph Price of Charlotte, NC and James L. Price and his wife, Sandy of Waxhaw, NC; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; a niece, Georgianna Martin of Alexis, NC; and a special friend, Beulah Wright of Great Falls.
