Tommy Eugene Baker, Sr.

Mr. Tommy Eugene Baker, Sr., 79, died Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Westminster Health and Rehabilitation Center in Rock Hill, SC. A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, November 6, 2023 at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Jim Williams officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Mr. Baker was born August 13, 1944 in Great Falls, SC and was a son of the late William Guy Baker, Sr. and Frances Williams Baker. He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and retired from Duke Energy after 40 years of service. Tommy was an avid Clemson fan and he loved golf. He was a star athlete in high school and a big sports fan of all sports. He was a member of Great Falls Presbyterian Church where he was a Deacon and served on various church committees. He is survived by his wife of over 41 years, Peggy Roof Baker; one daughter, Tammy Starnes (Hank) of Great Falls, SC; one son, Tommy Baker, Jr. (Amy) of Great Falls, SC; three grandchildren, Tommy Baker, III (Lynne), Clayton Starnes and Arden Baker all of Great Falls, SC; three very special nieces, Carol Ann Baker Claxton, Linda Baker Martin and Gail Baker Stalls and several other close nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Bobbie Wright of Charlotte, NC; brother-in-law Jimmy Roof of Great Falls, SC; In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Guy Jr., Heilman and Billy Baker and his sisters in law, Frances and Josephine Baker.
