Blackstock Mr. Alfred James Harper, 62,died Saturday, April 5, 2014.A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home with Mr. Victor Jackson officiating.Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 12,at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Mr. Harper was born October 12, 1951 in Columbia, SC and was a son of James Bryce Harper and Frances Louise Leitner Harper.He was a graduate of Shannon High School in Shannon, Mississippi and was employed as a truck driver with Circle S.Mr. Harper was an avid baseball fan who loved those New York Yankees and also enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by his wife of over 42 years, Cindy Callahan Harper; two sons, Richard O’Brian Harper and wife Beth of Great Falls and Adam Donovan Harper and wife Stacy of Blackstock; five grandchildren, Sierra Rose Harper whom he raised as his daughter, Thomas James Harper and Damien Snipes Gainer all of Blackstock, James Funderburkand Justin Funerderburk both of Great Falls; his parents, James Bryce and Frances Leitner Harper of Sumter; one brother, Victor Harper and wife Linda of Sumter; and one nephew, Erik Harper of Sumter.
