Andrew Scott Williams, Sr.

Mr. Andrew “Scott” Williams Sr., 69, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 10, 2024.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, October 13th, at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Chase Catledge and Pastor Patrick Blackmon officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Sunday at the church.

Scott was born in Sumter, SC on November 30, 1954 and was the son of the late Andrew James Williams, Jr. and Annette Roddey Williams. He graduated from Great Falls High and worked at Bowater Corporation for 43 years.

Scott loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Trinity Baptist Church where he especially enjoyed participating with children in the Kids for Christ program.

Scott was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a humble man who had a servant’s heart and a passion for helping others.

Those left to cherish Scott’s memory is the love of his life, his wife, Jo Ann Broome Williams of 49 years; a son, Scotty Williams; a daughter, Betsy Skinner (Warren);  a granddaughter, Brianna Howe (Michael); a grandson, Wes Skinner; a brother, Keith Williams (Darlene); two sisters, Deb Shull (Joey), and Anjie Lucas (Jeff). He was also loved and adored by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to take this opportunity to extend their appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff at MUSC Lancaster Hospital. And a special thank you to childhood friend, Randall McFarland and cousins, Renee and Brian McGrath for all their love and support.
