Barbara Murray Gaston

Fort Lawn Mrs. Barbara Murray Gaston passed away peacefully and was welcomed to her eternal reward on the morning of May 13th, 2021 at the age of 86. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Fort Lawn Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Woody, Rev. Larry Gooch and Kindred Hospice Care Chaplain Nate Cline officiating.Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday at Fort Lawn Baptist Church, 5742 Church St., Fort Lawn, SC. She was born In Asheville, NC on May 6th, 1935 to Lawrence and Dessie Murray and spent most of her life in the community of Fort Lawn, SC. She met and married the love of her life, Frank Gaston, and they spent 63 joyful years together.Barbara was a lifelong member of Fort Lawn Baptist Church and a loving friend to all. She loved cooking, flowers, and her fur-babies, Missy and Suzie. Barbara retired after 40 years of working at Springs Bleachery in Lancaster. She also worked for over 25 years running the concession stand at Lancaster Speedway. She will be missed by her family and friends. Barbara is survived by her husband, Frank; her grandchildren, Beth Parker (Jimmy) of Greenville and Eric Gaston (Alison) of Fort Lawn; her great-granddaughters, Emily Parker and Lauren Gaston; her sister, Sandra Gooch of Fort Lawn; her sister-in-law, Jo Ann Murray of Fort Lawn; and many nieces and nephews.Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ricky Gaston; her brother, Herbert Murray; and her brother-in-law, Mike Gooch.
