Richburg Mrs. Betty Jewel Gibson Blakley, 88, died Saturday, October 30, 2021 at her home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Anthony Commodore officiating. Mrs. Blakley was born September 18, 1933 in Lancaster County and was a daughter of the late Perry Gibson and Norma Small Gibson.She attended the schools of Great Falls and was a homemaker. As a teenager Betty was employed with Belk’s Department Store in Great Falls and was also formerly employed with JP Stevens, Cinderella Knitting and Walmart. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family and reading and studying her bible.She loved her cats. Mrs. Blakley was a member of the Kingdom Hall. She was a kind and loving person that was always ready to help anybody that she could. Betty was grateful for sharing a special friendship with Wallace Small. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Debbie Blakley of Richburg, SC; two sisters, Barbara Martin (Craig) of Dalzell, SC and Margie Snipes of Mobridge, SD; grandchildren, Allison, Heather, Crystal and Kevin; grant-grandchildren, Caiden, Harley, Aiden, Abagail and Brynlee; numerousnieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Blakley and her two son’s Perry Edward Blakley and William “Artie” Blakley; and an infant brother.
