Betty Mitchell Tyson

Great Falls Mrs. Betty Mitchell Tyson, 88, passed away Tuesday July 28, 2020 at her home. A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM Friday July 31, 2020 at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. J.D. Wilson and Rev. Andy Simpson officiating. Mrs. Tyson was born May 23, 1932 in Winnsboro, SC and was a daughter of the late Edgbert Lincoln Mitchell and Willie Mae Murphy Beckham. She attended the schools of Fairfield County and was retired from J.P. Stevens as a cloth inspector and from Grand Central Truck Stop.Mrs. Tyson was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She is survived by one son Paul A. Tyson, Jr. (Francine) of Quincy, IL.; one granddaughter, Nicole Tyson Lawhorn, of Asheboro, NC; one grandson, Aaron Tyson of Quincey IL. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul A. Tyson, Sr.; three sisters, Freida Lucas, Peggy Black and Bobbie Lancaster; three brothers, Whitey, Jimmy and Billy Mitchell.
