Billy Rogers Black

Mr. Billy Rogers Black, 89, died Saturday, October 17, 202 at his home surrounded by his family. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 6, 2026 with Rev. Danny Morrison officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church after the service until 3:00 PM. Interment will be private.

Mr. Black was born January 22, 1937 in Shelby, NC and was the son of the late John Henry Black and Margaret Sansing Black. He was a graduate of Blacksburg High School in Blacksburg, SC and then enlisted in the Air Force. After his time in the service, he became a service tech for Celanese in Charlotte, NC and traveled the world. He was a member of Great Falls Masonic Lodge # 277 and the Hejaz Shrine Club. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved old cars and was a collector of "everything". He shot his last deer at 88 years old. He was a member of Lake Wateree Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Grace Kimbrell Black; one son, Carl Black (Anne) of Fort Mill, SC and one daughter, Kim Whitman (Steve) of Lake Wateree, SC; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Allison), Shane (Chelsy), Kyle (Brittany) and Karina; six great-grandchildren.
