Blackstock, SC Mr. Bobby Ray Adams, 77, died Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, SC.A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 7, 2015at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Cameron and Rev. James Howard Baker officiating.The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.The interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Born June 9, 1937 in Great Falls, SC, Mr. Adams was a son of the late Samuel and Ina Knight Adams.He attended the schools of Great Falls and was retired from J.P. Stevens and also worked with Springs Industries and Duracell.He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and also attended Second Baptist Church where he was actively involved in the life of the church.He was a member of Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277, Hejaz Shrine and alsoa member of Great Falls Rescue Squad for over forty-five years where he was former Captain and Colonel.He was a veteran of the South Carolina Army National Guard.Mr. Adams was an avid fan of the Carolina Gamecocks,Great Falls Red Devils , Carolina Panthers, and he was also loved NASCAR and Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed local politics and being a part of his local community. He is survived by one daughter, Rosemarie Adams Allman (Alan) of Denver, NC; three grandchildren, Ashley Scales (Mort), Chad Allman (Cheri) and Amanda Picone (Brett); two great grandchildren, Morgan and Cooper Scales; one brother, Joe Adams of Iowa; two sisters, Carol Nachazel of CO and Beulah Deas of Lancaster, SC and an aunt, Helen Williams; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and three step-daughters, Sherry Baker, Pamela Squires and Trina Miller.
