Bobby Hubert Blackwell, Sr.

Mr. Bobby Hubert Blackwell, Sr. 90, died Friday, August 9, 2024 at MUSC Lancaster Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 12, 2024 at Tabernacle Ministries with Rev. Kenneth Compton, Rev. Legrande Taylor, Mr. Vernon Roberts and Danny Morrison officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM also Monday August 12, 2024 at Tabernacle Ministries. Mr. Blackwell was born November 14, 1933 in Lancaster, SC and was the son of the late Carl Blackwell and Louise Brunson Blackwell. He attended the schools of Great Falls and was a graduate of International Correspondence School and RCA Electronics. He worked with JP Stevens as a supervisor and an operator with Duke Power Dearborn Plant and was owner and operator of Blackwell Radio and TV for over 30 years. He was a member of Tabernacle Ministries and a former member of Great Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was a Sunday School teacher for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife of over 73 years, Emma Carlisle Blackwell; four children, Cathy Roberts (Rick) of Blackstock, SC, Bobby Blackwell, Jr. (Julie) of Black stock, SC, Jana Morrison (Danny) of Winnsboro, SC and Susan Reeves (Keith) of Lancaster, SC; twelve grandchildren, William Whisennant, Michelle Lindsay, Michael Roberts, April Blackwell, Matthew Blackwell, Anna Plyler, Abigayle Clymer , Carrie Morrison, Jordan Reeves, Ryan Reeves, Will Reeves and Tyler Reeves; sixteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Blackwell and Buddy Blackwell and his sisters, Eunice Carter, Francis Temple, Elizabeth Beckham and Evelyn Blackwell.
