Great Falls Mr. Bobby Ray Outen, 75, died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Springs Memorial Hospital.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Westside Baptist Church in Lancaster with Rev.Todd Robinson officiating.Interment will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 7, at Westside Baptist Church. Mr. Outen was born July 30, 1936 in Lancaster and was a son of the late Thomas Jefferson Outen and Rennie Jeanetti Watts Outen.He was a graduate of Lancaster High School and the SC Criminal Justice Academy.He was formerly employed with Plyler Wholesale, Jack’s Cookies, Chester County Sheriffs Department, a Lieutenant with Great Falls Police Department and former Chief of Fort Lawn Police Department; he also worked with Brinks and American Security.He was a member of Mt. Prospect United Methodist Church and former member of Westside Baptist Church of Lancaster. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Thompson Outen; one daughter, Rene’ K. Sanderson and husband Jeff of Great Falls; one son, Corey Ray Outen and wife Miranda of Mooresville, NC; two step-sons, Russell E. Waters, Jr. and Todd Waters both of Great Falls; three grandchildren, Kristina Kos, Seth Waters, and Kaitlyn Waters; two brothers, Bill Outen of Lancaster and Morrison Outen of Monroe, NC ; three sisters, Martha O. Knight and Joyce O. Watts of Lancaster and Frances Criminger of Myrtle Beach. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA. 23058-5216.
