Brenda Dayla Horne

Richburg Mrs. Brenda Dayla Horne, 78, died Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Atrium Health Main in Charlotte, NC. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday August 25, 2021 at Mt. Prospect United Methodist Church with Rev. Cecelia Davis officiating.Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the social hall of the church. Dayla was born July 17, 1943 in Kings Mountain, NC and was a daughter of the late Thomas Lee Horne and Mary Frances Carpenter Horne. She was a graduate of Lewisville High School and was formerly employed with Springs Industries.She was about nine years old when the family moved to SC. She was the first girl to enter this family and as many laughingly tell it, she was a prissy little thing who changed her clothes more than once or twice every day.Dayla is the namesake of Tom Holland and Oland’s sister, Dailia, who died when she was in her twenties.She worked until her retirement in the textile industry for both Manetta Mills and Springs Industries.She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spent hours with them over the years.Dayla loved music and loved to sing. She also loved her flowers and plants and working in her yard. She is survived by one son, Joe Ferguson of Richburg; two grandchildren, Jared and Brooke; three great-grandchildren, Olivia, McKinley and Meleah; five brothers, Ted Horne, Bob Horne, Wayne Horne, Blaine Horne and Robert Horne, Jr. all of Richburg; and three sisters, Virginia Hunter and Roxanne Furr both of Richburg and Nell Walker of Lancaster.
