Brenda Harris Mackey

Mrs. Brenda Harris Mackey, 80, died Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Agape House of Lexington. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Dantzler Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Roberts and Rev. Greg Batchelor officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Dantzler Baker Funeral Home. Mrs. Mackey was born January 26, 1943 in Great Falls, SC and was a daughter of the late John Thomas Harris and Annie Mae Osborne Harris. She attended the schools of Great Falls, SC and was retired from Springs Industries after 28 years of service. She is a member of First Baptist Church Great Falls and a regular attendee of Mitford Baptist Church in Great Falls. Brenda was an accomplished gardener and truly had a green thumb and could root a stick. She loved to volunteer as needed with the senior building in Great Falls. She was an avid animal lover and a great fan of the ASPCA. She is survived by her husband of over 39 years Frankie Mackey; two sons, Quillon “Bone” Douglas, Jr.( Sherry) of Great Falls, SC and Michael E. Mackey (Angie) of Lancaster, SC; two daughters, Crystal D. Wallace (Billy) of Lexington, SC and Sandy Gordon of Lancaster, SC; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; she was preceded in death by two brothers, Marion “Sonny” Harris and Howard Lloyd Harris; four sisters, Johnnie Mae Haire, Martha A. Garrison, Hilda Ray Johnson and Mary Ellen Kinley.
