Brenda Poole Towery

Mrs. Brenda Poole Towery, 83, died Sunday, May 17, 2026 at White Oak Manor in Lancaster, SC. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Cotton Pate officiating.  The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.

Mrs. Towery was born December 12, 1942 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late Willie Osborne Poole and Irene Lavender Poole.  She was a graduate of Great Falls High School Class of 1961.  Brenda was formerly employed as a secretary for Duke Power and was also a secretary at J.P. Stevens until its closure.  She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband, Butch, enjoyed her backyard as a wildlife preserve and loved cats.  She was an avid Clemson fan as well as a Dale Earnhardt fan.  She was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by two brothers, Dale Poole of Lancaster and Roger Poole (Susan) of Rock Hill; three stepchildren, Debbie Towery Tucker (Bruce) of Great Falls, Shari Pate (Cotton) of Kershaw and Lewis Towery (Barbara) of Great Falls; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "Butch" Towery and a brother, Donnie Poole.
