Bruce "Buddy" Franklin Roberts

Great Falls Mr. Bruce "Buddy" Franklin Roberts, 81, died Friday, August 23, 2013, at The Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, SC.The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 25, at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Zach Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Avenue, Great Falls, SC. Mr. Roberts was born May 25, 1932, in Jonesviile, Virginia, and was a son of the late William H. Roberts and Julia Carroll Roberts.He served in the United States Air Force and retired as a machinist with Lancaster Machine Co. Mr. Roberts was a member of Second Baptist Church. He is survived by a son Steve Roberts and wife Beth of Westminster, SC; daughters, Kathy Roberts Hicks and husband Danny of Columbia, SC, Diane Yates and husband Paul of Indian Trail, NC, Vickie Pridgen, Bonnie Meyer and husband James, and Tonya Hernandez all of Monroe, NC;grandchildren Derek Hicks, Jessica Roberts Smith, Brett Hicks, Amy Roberts Jared, Audrey Roberts Thomas, Mark Pridgen, Christine Pridgen Abraham, Douglas Meyer, Amanda Yates Talero, Samantha Dumford, Emily Dumford, Alex Dumford, and Abigail Hernandez; and twenty great-grandchildren Riley, Jordyn, Lucas, Josslyn, Nathan, Brook, Sabrina, Juliana, Zachary, Gabriella, Alexia, Matthew, Darian, Javon, Jayden, Madison, Amoni, Aniyah, Aydan, and Lauren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marcine McMurray Roberts, his second wife Roberta K. Roberts, a granddaughter, Shannon Meyer Melton, four brothers, and two sisters.
