Great Falls Mr. J.T. “Butch” Austin, Jr., 64, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Springs Memorial Hospital.The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Great Falls with Rev. Greg Batchelor and Dr. Marty Roberts officiating.Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC 29055. Born January 5, 1947 in Great Falls, Mr. Austin was a son of the late J.T. Austin, Sr. and Mamie Campbell Austin.He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and served in the U.S. Army.He was formerly employed with J.P. Stevens Co. and later retired from Duke Energy as a hydro maintenance operator.He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He is survived by his wife, Diane McMullan Austin; two daughters, Susan A. Roberts and her husband Marty and Holly Lloyd and her husband Paul both of Great Falls; three grandchildren, Jamie Lei Roberts, Zac Roberts, and Kaylee Lloyd; two brothers, Olin Austin and Steve Austin both of Great Falls; and one sister, Sara Lineberger of Great Falls.He was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Harkey and Glady Austin.
