Carolina Gayle Black Gwin

Mrs. Carolina Gayle Black Gwin, 82, died Monday, June 16, 2025 at her home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced when available.

Mrs. Gwin was born August 11, 1942 in Great Falls, SC and was the daughter of the late Rembert Chandler Black and Martha Ellen McKeown Black. She was a graduate of Great Falls High School, Winthrop College and Appalachian State University. She was retired after 30 years of service from Great Falls Elementary School as a first and third grade teacher and formerly taught in Rock Hill, SC. Gayle was a member of First Baptist Church in Great Falls where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member and part of the Mission trips. Gayle enjoyed walking, playing the piano, reading books , Christmas ,  the beach and working in her yard.

She is survived by her husband of over 59 years, Ralph Gwin; one daughter, Taska Gwin of Salisbury, NC; one son, Amiel Gwin (Janet) of Rock Hill, SC; one brother, Stanley Black (Frances) of Greenville, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Roy Black.
