Great Falls Mr. Charles Avery Dawkins, 82, died Sunday, October 19, 2014, at Chester Regional Medical Center.Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Benny Greene officiating.Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM on Tuesday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Mr. Dawkins was born September 26, 1932 in Chester County, SC and was a son of the late James Dawkins and Mildred Orr Dawkins Bell.He attended the schools of Great Falls and was formerly employed with J.P. Stevens Company. Mr. Dawkins enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by one son, Arthur Dawkins of Great Falls; one step-daughter, June Taylor Tennant (Riley) of Concord, NC; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.Mr. Dawkins was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Taylor Dawkins.
