Christopher Ashley

Lancaster, Mr. Christopher Ashley, 31, died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Beacon Baptist Church in Lancaster with the Reverend Doug Sehorne officating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Great Falls. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Dantzler – Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of Michael Underwood, 3981 Major Evans Road, Lancaster, SC. Mr. Ashley was Born January 27, 1981 in Lancaster, South Carolina, and was the son of Linda Ashley Broome and the late Ronnie Underwood. He attended the schools of Lancaster County and was previously employed with Spring Lancaster Plant as a supervisor and Peeler Construction Company in Spartanburg and Myrtle Beach. Mr. Ashley was a member of Beacon Baptist Church in Lancaster. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his adopted parents, William and Shenell Knight of Lancaster; adopted brothers, William "Pawnee" Knight and wife Marilyn, and Wayne Knight and wife Jill both of Lancaster; adopted sisters, Cristal Knight Cook and husband Todd of Sumter, SC, Amy Knight Adams and husband James of Richburg, and April Greene Collins and husband Steven of Lancaster; a brother-in-law Michael Underwood of Lancaster; special nephews and nieces, Destiny, Jasmine, and Michael Underwood, Christopher, Edward, Lilly and Ricky Knight all of Lancaster, James Adams and Samatha Price of Richburg, and Christopher Wallace of Lancaster; a special uncle Ricky Lynn Underwood; and a special aunt Sandra W. Underwood who he called Grandma. He was preceded in death by his sister Tonya Nicole Ashley and an uncle Alvin L. Underwood.
