Lugoff,SC Mrs. Clennie E. Curtis, 91, died peacefully on October 7, 2018 at NHC Nursing Home in Columbia, SC. Funeral serviceswill be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC with Pastor Bill Dulaney officiating.Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Mrs. Curtis was born in Chester County on April 3, 1927 and was a daughter to the late Willie B. and Lula Mae Jacobs Ellison.Clennie graduated from Great Falls High School and went to work for J.P. Stevens Textile Mills.Clennie later attended college and became a nurse.Clennie worked as a nurse for 35 years at Baptist Hospital in Columbia. Clennie was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Lugoff, SC.Clennie was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. Those left to cherish Clennie’s memories are her son, Gary Ellis of Lugoff, SC; sister, Plumie E. Roddey of Great Falls, SC; nephew Fred Killian (wife Elisha, great nephew Fred Jr.) of Virginia; great nephews Scott Williams (Jo Ann) and Keith Williams (Darlene) of Great Falls, SC; Renee McGrath (Brian) of California, as well as many other family and friends. Mrs. Curtis was preceded in death by her first husband, Lenwood C. Ellis; and her second husband Forest C. Curtis.Mrs. Curtis was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Kathleen Rabon, Zadie Neely, Emily Rushing, Burley Roddey, Gladys Mitkus and Gertie Smith; and brothers, Lowell Ellison, Lenzie Ellisor and Rembert Ellisor.
