Great Falls Mr. Clingmon Horace Bennett, 86, died Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Springs Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 11, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Marty Roberts officiating.Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, July 10, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Mr. Bennett was born November 20, 1929 in Clinton, SC and was a son of the late Horace Clingmon Bennett and Elizabeth Gibson Bennett.He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and pursued training in air conditioning and refrigeration.He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from J.P. Stevens after 36 years of service.Mr. Bennet was a member of First Baptist Church and past Master of Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277 and Hejaz Temple. He is survived by his wife, Ida Lathan Bennett; and two brothers, Harold Bennett (Joyce) of Greensboro, NC and Ralph Bennett (Frances “Cookie”) of Great Falls.Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by a sister, Mary B.
