Cynthia Newton McMurray (Cynde), 58, went home to be with her Lord and Savior unexpectedly on Monday October 27, 2014. A Celebration of her Life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Lando Church of God with Reverend Ed Harris officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Dantzler- Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home. Interment will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Great Falls, SC. Mrs. McMurray was born in Rock Hill, SC on October 10, 1956 and was a daughter of Parks Newton and Ola Isom Newton. Cynde was a member of Lando Church of God where she was active in the Children’s ministry, Ladies Ministry, and the Honduras mission team.She was a loving devoted wife, mother, Gi-Gi, sister, and friend, always putting others before herself.She had the most generous and loving heart and made a lasting impact on the lives that she came in contact with.She had the most beautiful, infectious smile, laugh, and sense of humor that would light up any room.Cynde especially loved spending time with her loving husband and partner of 11 years, Doug, her 4 grandchildren, and being at the Lando Church of God serving the Lord in any way she could.Cynde started her career as a Public Safety Communicator in Chester County in 1996. She later joined York County Public Safety Communications in November of 2009 and was currently employed there.She enjoyed her job and serving the Chester and York communities. She is survived by her husband, William Douglas” Doug” McMurray; her daughter and best friend Jade Johnson Flores (David) of Richburg, SC, her son Devin Johnson(Samantha) of Chester, SC, four Grandchildren, Lexi, Gray, Jasper, and Lane, five sister’s, Betty Elkins of Rock Hill, SC, Peggy Quinn and Ann Connolly (Roddey) of York, SC, Sherry Morris (Robert), Debbie Holder, and one brother Eddie McAteer all of Chester, SC and a niece whom she reared, Kandi Alvaraz of Chester, SC . In addition to her parents, she was preceded in her home going byher biological mother Helen N McAteer, two brothers, Bobby and Ronnie Newton, her prayer daughter McKenzie Mathias and numerous other loved ones.
