Cynthia Sue Schurz Nester

Mrs. Cynthia Sue Schurz Nester, 76, died Saturday, March 15, 2025 at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center. No services will be held at this time.

Mrs. Nester was born September 28, 1948 and was the daughter of the late Frank Schurz and Mary Sue Gambrell French. She was a graduate of Chester High School and Lander College. Cindy’s career was in banking where she spent 20 of those years at First Citizens Bank in Great Falls, SC. She loved to travel, beach music, cruises and shagging. Cindy was also a part of many civic and professional organizations.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of over 25 years, Dean Nester; grandsons Kyle Ellison and Liam McKeown; she is survived by one son Jamie G. Ellison (Melanie) of Chester, SC; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Merry Fach (Wayne) of Great Falls, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
