David Walker Baker, Jr.

David Walker Baker, Jr., 87, died Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at his home.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Lake Wateree Baptist Church with Rev. Chase Catledge officiating.

David was born July 20, 1937 in Great Falls, SC and was a son of the late David Walker Baker, Sr. and Claudine Barrow Baker.  He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army.  David was owner and operator of Baker Electric and Baker Auction Co.  He enjoyed hunting, camping and gardening.  David was a member of Lake Wateree Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Blackmon Baker; one son, Kevin Baker (Diane) of Rock Hill; two stepsons, Kenneth Pearsall of Lake Wateree and Steven Pearsall of Columbia; five grandchildren, Neeley Pearsall (McKenzie), Tanner Baker (Taylor), Taylor Baker Clark (Jared), Kara Baker and Elisha Baker; two great grandchildren; one brother, James R. Baker (Barbara) of Blackstock; one sister, Sandra Snipes of Lancaster; a daughter-in-law, Shannon Baker; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a son, Brian Baker.
