Dollie Mcmanus Roberts

Great Falls Mrs. Dollie McManus Roberts, 87, went to see Jesus on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at her home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PMSaturday, April 23, 2022 at Mt .Zion Baptist Church with Rev. J.D. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the church. Mrs. Roberts was born September, 3, 1934 in Fairfield County, SC and was a daughter of the late Virginia McManus Dove. She attended the schools of Chester County and received her GED later in life.She was owner and operator at Mothers II day care for many years and later worked with Greater Great Falls in the children’s reading program, was active in Chester Baptist Association, founding board member of GRASP and supported numerous charity organizations. Dollie was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for almost 60 years having served in various positions. She is survived by one son, Jesse Duncan (Susan) of Great Falls, SC, SC; five grandchildren Warren Edward Duncan of Lancaster, SC, Emily Duncan Clanton (Bret)of Travelers Rest, SC, Rebecca Duncan Sprouse (Brian) of Boiling Springs, SC, Sara Duncan of Greenville, SC and Jennifer Evans of Great Fall, SC; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Dove Mills of Monroe, NC ;one brother, Timothy Dove of Great Falls , SC ; sister-in-law Louise McManus of Chester, SC. She was preceded in death by her sons David Patrick Duncan and Paul Edward Roberts; brothers, Charles McManus and William Dove; sisters, Nan Dove Roberts, Rachel Dove Creech and Patricia Dove Williams and her husbands James Duncan and Charles Roberts.
