Great Falls Mr. Donald Richard Young, 71, died Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Springs Memorial Hospital.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Evangel Temple Assembly of God with Rev. Mike Sollers officiating.Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday in the sanctuary of Evangel Temple Assembly of God, Great Falls, SC. Mr. Young was born January 6, 1941 in Kershaw, SC and was a son of the late William A. Young and Betty Lorene Munn Young.He attended Camden High School and received his GED while serving with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war.He was a member of Hermitage Baptist Church in Camden, Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277 and Hejaz Shrine Temple.Mr. Young was the retired owner of Hilltop Restaurant. He is survived by his life companion, Teresa Baker of Great Falls; two daughters, Gail Ward and husband Gary of McBee, SC, and Donna Knight and husband Tommy of Great Falls; two sons, Donald R. “Ricky” Young of Myrtle Beach and Timothy Eugene Young of Jefferson, SC; a step-son, Shon Johnson of Great Falls; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a god-daughter, Dewana Flynn Looper.He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Roderick “Roddey” Young, Lawrence Archie “Larry” Young, and Billy Young.
