Dorothy "Dot" Thompson Young

Dorothy Jane “Dot” Thompson Young, 79, died Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Pruitt Health–Ridgeway. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Dantzler Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Roberts officiating. Mrs. Young was born December 30, 1944 in Lincoln County, NC and was a daughter of the late John Thompson and Dorothy Louise Reap Kold. She attended Elizabeth Heights High School in Great Fall and was former owner and operator of the Hilltop Restaurant and DJs Restaurant in Great Falls. Mrs. Young was a member of Lake Wateree Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Donna L. Knight (Tommy) of Winnsboro; three grandchildren, Kayla Knight Boulware ( Quincy) of Great Falls, T.J. Knight and Jackson Knight both of Winnsboro; and three great grandchildren, Gannon Knight, Makynlee Knight and Xander Boulware. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Victor “Vic” Yount and a brother, John “Mack” Thompson. Memorials may be made to Mitford Baptist Church, P.O. Box 494, Great Falls, SC 29055.
