Douglas Wayne Carter

Douglas Wayne Carter, 77, died Sunday, June 7, 2026, at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center.  All services will be private.

Doug was born August 3, 1948 in Lancaster, SC and was a son of the late Everette Theo Carter and Lorraine Suttle Carter.  He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and formerly employed as a police officer.

He is survived by two daughters, Sheila Carter Neely of Arkansas and Tera Carter Minors of Winnsboro, SC; two grandchildren, Dawn Danielle Neely and Mark Daniel Neely; two great grandchildren, Jaycee Milaya Neely and Daniel Jackson Neely; a brother, John Everette Carter of Great Falls, SC; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Susan Carter; and a sister, Patricia Carter Weed.
