Great Falls Mr. Douglas William Sumner, 72 ,died Monday, January 28, 2019 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, February 1, 2019 at Mitford Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Marty Roberts officiating. Interment will following in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PMThursday, January 31, 2019 at Dantzler Baker Funeral Home. Mr. Sumner was born November, 26, 1946 in Chester, SC and was the son of the late Gudger Sumner and Jeanette Cecile Branham Sumner. He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and retired from Duracell as a mechanic. Mr. Sumner was of the Baptist faith and was a memberof the Great Falls Masonic Lodge # 277. Doug was an avid motorcyclist and he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of over 52 yearsBrenda Sealy Sumner; one daughter Jeanette Roof (Stacy) of Great Falls, SC; two grandsons, Stacy Tyler Roof (Valerie) and Douglas Trevor Roof both of Great Falls, SC; one niece Brittany Beal (Vahn) of Charleston, SC; three great-nieces Lily Branham, Giovanna Beal and Storm Beal all of Charleston, SC; one great-nephew, Joel Branham of Charleston, SC; one brother-in-law L.T. Baker , of Great Falls, SC. Mr. Sumner was preceded in death by his son Douglas William Sumner,II. Memorials may be made to the family at Trinity Baptist Church “Building Fund”P.O.
