Earl Eugene "Gene" Franklin

Great Falls Mr. Earl Eugene “Gene” Franklin, 72, died Monday, February 19, 2018, at Springs Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, February 23, 2018, at Great Falls Church of God with Rev. James Freeman officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends anytime at the home at 20 Seaboard St., Great Falls. Mr. Franklin was born in Whitmire, SC on September 6, 1945. He attended the schools of Kings Mountain, NC and was retired from Fairfield County EMS. Mr. Franklin was a member of Great Falls Church of God. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Hamilton Franklin; two sons, Earl Franklin Jr. (Ashley) and James Daniel Franklin both of Great Falls; three daughters, Cheryl Taylor (Joe) and Pamela McFarland (Steve) both of Great Falls and Teresa Puckett of Lancaster; his mother Dorothy Worthy Franklin of Great Falls; two brothers, Joe Franklin of Prosperity and Jimmy Franklin of Bethune; two sisters Janie Beckham of Great Falls and Virginia Gibson of Newberry; ten grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by his father Fred E. Franklin. Memorials may be made to Great Falls Church of God, 34 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC 29055.
