Edith Baker GREAT FALLS:Mrs. Edith Self Baker, 80, of 3150 Scott Road died Sunday, October 12, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Great Falls Church of God with Rev. James Freeman and Rev. Roy Puckett officiating.Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Baker was born January 26, 1928 in Chester Co., a daughter of the late Luther C. and Myrtle Small Self.She was a graduate of Great Falls High School and was retired from J.P. Stevens Company. Mrs.Bakerwas a lifetime member of the Church of God and a faithful member of Great Falls Church of God where she taught Sunday school for more than 30 years and was named Mother of the Year in 1999.A former officer of G.R.A.S.P., Mrs. Baker assisted the Chester Co. School District Adult Literacy Program for 11 years.She donated her personal limit of 8 gallon to the Red Cross blood drive. Surviving are her husband of 61 years , James "Ed" Baker; two sons, Kenneth Baker of Fort Lawn and Coleman Baker of Great Falls; two daughters, Lynda Baker of Great Falls and Karen Puckett of McColl, SC; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; and two sisters, Iona Moss of Hickory Grove, SC and Joseline Barber of York, SC.
