Edna Knight Day

Great Falls Mrs. Edna Knight Day, 93, died Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Springs Memorial Hospital.The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Patrick Blackmon and Rev. Marion Dry officiating.Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM in the fellowship hall of Trinity Baptist Church, 112 Chester Ave., Great Falls, SC. Mrs. Day was born Oct. 27, 1919 in Great Falls and was a daughter of the late James Thomas Knight and Blanche Love Knight.She was a graduate of Great Falls High School and was retired from J.P. Stevens.Mrs. Day was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Donald W. Day of Lancaster; one daughter, Linda Frick and husband Ted of Columbia; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Day; three brothers, Hoyle, Grover, and Boyd Knight; and a sister, Lena Dawkins.The family wishes to express special thanks to her caregiver, Mary Cunningham and to Regency Hospice of Rock Hill.
