GREAT FALLS:Mr. Edward Preston Porter, Jr. of Golf Course Road died Thursday May 7, 2009 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.He was 68. Funeral services will be 3:00 Saturday at Hebron Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. David Riddle and the Rev. Jim Williams officiating.Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Great Falls. Mr. Porter was born August 27, 1940 in Chester, SC, a son of the late Edward Preston and Lena Robinson Porter.He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and member of Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277 and Hejaz Shrine Temple.Formerly, he was the owner and operator of 901 Quick Stop and Great Falls Quick Stop.He was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, Diane Lathan Porter; daughter, Terrie Frost and her husband Mark of Fort Lawn; and two grandsons, Eric Frost and Morgan Frost of Fort Lawn.
