Great Falls Mr. Elliot “Shorty” Springs Lucas, 88, died, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Agape Hospice in Rock Hill.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Greenlawn Cemetery with Chuck Evans officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 15, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Mr. Lucas was born November 27, 1925 in Kershaw, SC and was a son of the late Lossie Lee Lucas and Ola Roberts Lucas. He attended the schools of Kershaw County, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war, and retired from J.P. Stevens Co. after 43 years of service.Mr. Lucas was a member of First Baptist Church.He was an avid fisherman. He is survived by one son, Ken Lucas of Great Falls; two daughters, Peggy Christopher and husband Jimmy and Pam Rape and husband David both of Great Falls; two stepdaughters, Linda Lane and husband Billy of Great Falls and Angie Hake of Lexington; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Lucas of Great Falls and Marvin Lucas of Lexington; and two sisters, Reba Hance and Irene Plyler both of Lancaster.He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Shelton Lucas, a brother, Eugene Lucas, and a sister, Evelyn Miles.
