Great Falls Mr. Emmett Elmer Housley, 92, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at his home.A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday, August 21, 2015 at Mt. Dearborn United Methodist Church with Rev. David Ussery officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery with Masonic Rites.The family will receive friends at the home. Born October 4, 1922, Mr. Housleywas a son of the late John Henry Housley and Louvenia Goss Housley. He was a graduate of the schools of South Carolina and a Veteran of the US Navy having served as a SeaBee during WWII and received a purple heart for his service at Utah Beach on D-Day.Mr. Housley retired as owner/operator of Tri-County Heating and also retired as Heating and Air Instructor at Lancaster High School Vocational Center.Early in his career he worked for Otis Elevator.He was a member of Mt. Dearborn UnitedMethodist Church and Great Falls MasonicLodge #277.Mr. Housley was an avid hunter.He loved huntingraccoon, rabbit, deer and turkey and just being outdoors. He is survived by his wife of over 68 years, Betty Housley; one daughter, Karen Lewis (Oscar) of Blackstock, SC; four grandchildren, Kelli Chen (Ming), Kristin Brown (Brandon), Stephen Lewis (Tara), and Jeffrey Lewis (Carissa); ten great grandchildren; and one brother, Elvin Housley of Riceville, TN; and one sister, Ivanell .
