Ernest Wendell Lucas

Mr. Ernest Wendell Lucas, 82, died Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Piedmont Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Chase Catledge officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Lucas was born August 2, 1941 in Lancaster County, SC and was a son of the late Ernest Lucas and Willie McManus Lucas Holt. He attended the schools of Great Falls and was retired from J.P. Stevens. Mr. Lucas was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277. He is survived by one son, Ernest W. "Ernie" Lucas, Jr. (Tammy) of Great Falls; one granddaughter, Christie Wofford (John) of Dawson, GA; a special niece, Sandra Hefner (Pete) of Great Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Archie Lucas and Bobby Leroy Lucas and two sisters, Margrete Huffstickler and Mildred Benfield.
