Great Falls Mr. Ernest Earl Tate, 74, died Monday, January 17, 2011 at Orangeburg Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Great Falls with Rev. Curtis Cameron officiating.The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Mr. Tate was born June 2, 1936 in Lafayette, GA. and was a son of the late Robert Alan Tate and Alma Thomas Hallman and the widower of Brennie Starnes Tate.He served in the S.C. National Guard and was a member of the Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277. He is survived by one son, Alan Tate and wife Margaret of Fort Lawn, SC; one daughter, Barbara Tate Jones of Bamberg, SC; two daughters-in-law, Janet Tate of Great Falls and Darlene Tate of Bamberg; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and one sister, Elaine Gibson of Fort Lawn.He was preceded in death by two sons, Carl Tate and Bobby Tate, two brothers, Robert Tate and Doyle Tate and one sister, Mozelle Tate Kelly.
