Eulah Smith McKeown, 82, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, at her home in Ludowici, Georgia under the care of her family and Georgia Hospice Care. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 12, 2026, at Heath Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. David Ussery officiating.
She was born and raised in Hillsville, VA, and lived there until 1956, when she moved to Ludowici, where she lived for the next 45 years. In 2001 she moved to Great Falls, SC with her husband, Lee. She worked for the USPS for over 10 years, the Gold Crown Hallmark store in Hinesville for five years, and, more importantly, she took care of her children and grandchildren. She was known to be a caregiver for sick family members for many years. She recently moved back to Ludowici to be with her daughter and son-in-law due to her failing health. She enjoyed being in her yard and whether she was farming, planting flowers, cutting grass or weed-eating, she loved every bit of it. She absolutely loved animals, especially her doggy, Peanut. She was a member of Heath Chapel United Methodist Church in Great Falls, SC. In addition to her parents, Eldred and Marie Surratt Smith, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melinda Reddish; and a son, Isaac Billy Skipper, Jr.
Survivors are her husband of 25 years, Lee McKeown of Great Falls, SC; daughter, Angie Fowler (Kenny Lynch) of Ludowici; grandchildren, Ashley Reddish of Great Falls, SC, Casey Folker (Deidra Westberry) and Christian Baxter (Juan Lopez) of Ludowici; great-grandchildren, Makaylah Snipes (Trey) of Heath Springs, SC, Caleb Hauanio, Ashton Hauanio, Raina Mae Blackmon (Artez) all of Great Falls, SC, Aiden Folker, Ethan Moody, Keegan Moody, Jasanna Moody, Kinsley Baxter, Kassidy Baxter, and Ja’Ligha Lopez of Ludowici; great-great grandchildren, Joshua Blackmon of Great Falls, SC, and Oklyn Snipes of Heath Springs, SC.
