Great Falls Mrs. Evelyn Christie Tarlton, 84, died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at her home.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Patrick Blackmon and Rev. Greg Batchelor officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 AM on Friday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Mrs. Tarlton was born March 24, 1927 in Great Falls and was a daughter of the late Baxter Lee Christie and Julia Peake Christie.She was a graduate of Great Falls High School and worked as a secretary for the Town of Great Falls and Great Falls High School for many years and formerly for Appalachian State University.She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Christie Tarlton Pearson and her husband Mike of Lancaster and Cindy Tarlton Johnston and husband Monty of Great Falls; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband Otha Harold Tarlton, Jr. and two great grandchildren.
