Excel Trotter

Great Falls Mr. Excel Trotter, 91, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Chesterfield Convalescent Center.The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013, at 3:00 PM at New Beginnings Restoration Ministries (formerly Great Falls Pentecostal Church) with Rev. Roger Knight officiating.Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM on Monday at New Beginnings Restoration Ministries, 4 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC 29055. Mr. Trotter was born January 10, 1922 in Georgia and was a son of the late Wylie Trotter and Maria Webster Trotter.He received his GEFD while serving in the military with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.Mr. Trotter retired from J.P. Stevens Company. He is survived by one son, Steve Trotter and wife Najma of Lancaster; two step-daughters, Cheryl Carnes Childers and Cathy Carnes Douglas; seven grandchildren, Stefanie Trotter, Khadija Trotter, Najla Trotter, Heather Barrett Baker, Matthew Barrett, Corey Carnes, and Scott Childers; twelve great-grandchildren;one brother, Wylie Trotter of Las Vegas, Nevada; and two sisters, Juanita Looper of Great Falls, and Gerri Porter of Winnsboro.He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Beckham Trotter and seven brothers, Kenneth Trotter, Roger Trotter, Ray Trotter, Frank Trotter,C.B.
