Ray Hix LUGOFF: Mr. Ray Matthew Hix died Sunday March 15, 2009 at Lexington Medical Center.He was 76. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home in Great Falls. Interment with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Great Falls. Born January 27, 1933 in Georgia, Mr. Hix was a son of the late William Dallas and Letha Matthews Hix.A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Hix earned his G.E.D. while on active duty, served 2 tours in Korea, 3 tours in Vietnam and over 500 jumps during his 25 year military career.He was a military history buff and enjoyed fishing, reading, and his 3 cats. Surviving are Sally Stypczynski of Lugoff; brother, Jeff B. Hix of Chapin, SC; sister, Colleen E. Berger of Lugoff; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Avenue, Great Falls.
