Frances Hinson Broughton

Great Falls Mrs. Frances Hinson Broughton, 91, died Friday, February 3, 2017, at White Oak Manor in Lancaster.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Chase Catledge officiating.Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM on Sunday at Trinity Baptist Church and other times at 6 Maple St., Great Falls, SC. Mrs. Broughton was born July 22, 1925 in Lancaster, SC and was a daughter of the late Vernie T. Hinson and Maggie Knight Hinson. She was former owner and operator of Frances’ Beauty Shop.Mrs. Broughton was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir for many years.She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 211. She is survived by one son, Wayne Broughton (Barbara) of Richburg; three daughters, Pat Bigham (George) of Waxhaw, NC, Kay Stevens (Jerry) of Lancaster and Carolyn Reese of Columbia; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one sister, Mrs. Gynell Hyatt of Green Cove Springs, FL.Mrs. Broughton was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Broughton; two brothers, Howard Hinson and Cecil Hinson; and a sister, Josephine Carey. Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 297, Great Falls, SC 29055.
