Mrs. Frances Marion McElveen Lucas, 83, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at White Oak Manor in Lancaster, SC.The funeral service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at New Beginnings & Restoration Ministry in Great Falls, SC with Rev. Corliss Woodson, Rev. Chuck Evans and Rev. Todd Robinson officiating.The interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home .Born September 29, 1930 in Laurens County, SC, Mrs. Lucas was a daughter of the late James A. and Rosa Thompson McElveen. And the widow of Eugene V. Lucas..She attended the schools of Laurens and Chester Counties and was retired from J.P. Stevens.She was a member of New Beginnings and Restoration Ministry and formerly a member of Great Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church.She was a dedicated mother and grandmother.Mrs. Lucas loved her children, grandchildren and her church. .She is survived by three children, Elsie Hornsby (Ken) of Winnsboro, SC, Jimmy Lucas (Gayle) of Lancaster, SC and Ricky Lucas (Teresa) of Great Falls, SC; eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one great-great grandson; very special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; special friends, Lois Poston andLinda Hallman both of Great Falls, SC and Jane Bowers of Lancaster, SC.She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Saxon, Faye McWaters and Dorothy McAllister.
