Rock Hill Mrs. Freida Mitchell Lucas, 89, died Monday, September 28, 2015, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill.A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Great Falls with Rev. Andy Simpson officiating.The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Mrs. Lucas was born on November 13, 1925 in Union County, SC and was a daughter of the late Edgbert Lincoln Mitchell and Willie Mae Murphy Beckham.She was formerly employed as a waitress and was a member of Second Baptist Church of Great Falls. She is survived by one grandson, one granddaughter, and a sister, Betty M. Tyson of Great Falls.Mrs. Lucas was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Lucas; two daughters, Carla Christopher and Brenda Stroud; and a number of brothers and sisters. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 6924 Wateree Rd., Great Falls, SC 29055.
