Fort Lawn Mr. George Hemphill “Pete” Garrison, 83, died Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Springs Memorial Hospital.A memorial service will beheld at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 24, 2015, atGreat Falls Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Henry Adams an Rev. John Rumford officiating.Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 24, at Great Falls Church of the Nazarene and other times at the home at 5752 Oak St., Fort Lawn, SC. Mr. Garrison was born July 28, 1931 in Great Falls, SC and was a son of the late Bunk Garrison and Mae Draughty Garrison.He was a graduate of Chester High School and earned his associate’s degree while serving with the U.S. Air Force in Korea where he was an airplane mechanic.Mr. Garrison was a construction superintendent with Pete Garrison Construction and a member of the Great Falls Lions Club.He was a member of Fort Lawn Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha Harris Garrison; two sons, Thaddeus Garrison of Great Falls and Robbie Garrison of Rock Hill; two daughters, Torrie Bailes (Tommy) of Blackstock and Glinda Garrison Little of McConnells; two step-sons, Michael Ray “Skip” McCammon (Linda) and Robert Brent McCammon (Joyce) both of Great Falls; one step-daughter, Sandra Darlene Brown (Dennis) of Kannapolis, NC; fifteen grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a son, George H. Garrison, Jr. Memorials may be made to Fort Lawn Presbyterian Church Building Fund, c/o Charles Wieland, 3 Lynn Lane, Great Falls, sC 29055.
