Great Falls, SC: Mr. Hartsell Hugh Gladden, Sr., 74, died Friday, September 14, 2018 at Providence Health, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Fort Lawn, SC.The funeral service will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. V. Ray Robinson and Rev. Jimmy Jordan officiating.The interment will be private. Born August 3, 1944 in Great Falls, SC, Mr. Gladden was the son of the late Jesse Gladden and Mary Lineberger Gladden.He was a graduate of Great Falls High School Class of 1966 and was a self-employed truck driver.Mr. Gladden was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a member of the Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277.He was a volunteer fireman for over fifty years and was also a former member of the Jaycees. He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Burma Broom Gladden; one son, H. Hugh Gladden, Jr. (Julie) of York, SC; grandchildren, Wes Gladden (Rebecca) of Lancaster, SC, Morgan Gladden Byrd (Dustin) of Heath Springs, SC, Garrett Gladden of Charlotte, NC, Magen Bush of Atlantic City, NJ, Ryan Gladden of York, SC, and Shane Gladden of Great Falls, SC; two great grandchildren, Dawson Byrd and Madelyn Byrd of Heath Springs, SC; three sisters, Jane Gladden Falls of Gastonia, NC, Sallie Hudson(Sonny) of Lake Wateree, SC and Marsha Collins of Great Falls, SC; numerous nieces and nephews and a special niece Tenille Barnhill (Eddie) of Florence, SC whom they reared.He was preceded in death by a son Barry S. Gladden. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church “Building Fund”, PO Box 397, Fort Lawn, SC 29714.
