KERSHAW:Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Gardner Kennington, 76,died Monday, June 15, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Flint Ridge Baptist Church in Heath Springs, SC with the Rev. Kelvin Hinson and the Rev. Sam Kennington officiating.Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Great Falls, SC. Born March 28, 1933 in Kershaw County, SC, Mrs. Kennington was a daughter of the late Fred Isaac and Bleeker Morgan Gardner.She attended the schools of Kershaw County and was formerly employed with J.P. Stevens Co. and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. She was the widow of Crawford Kennington. Surviving are her sons, Jeff Kennington and his wife Mary of Charlotte, NC and the Rev. Sam Kennington and his wife Missy of Lancaster, SC; a daughter, Cynthia Kennington of Kershaw;7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.She is also survived by a brother, Joe Gardner of Hartsville, SC and two sisters, Floree Todd and Nell Brown of Kershaw, SC.She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Kennington. The family will receive friends from 6~8 Tuesday evening at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 underwood Avenue, Great Falls, SC.
