Henry G. "Buddy" Jordan

December 16, 1927 — September 5, 2017

Richburg Henry “Buddy” Griffith Jordan, 89, was born December 16, 1927 in Richburg, South Carolina. He was the youngest child of Josiah Griffith Jordan and Annie Drennan Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Josiah Jordan. Buddy is survived by his sisters, Jean Jordan Prothro of Manning, South Carolina, and Edna Jordan Will of Dallas, North Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews. After graduating from Lewisville High School, he attended Clemson University. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Buddy was a lifelong farmer and upon his retirement from Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company he continued to raise cattle. He was a mason with Richburg Lodge #89, and a member of Woodmen of the World. He was a member of Fort Lawn Baptist Church. Buddy grew some of the best tasting tomatoes ever, which he shared with friends and family. He loved his family and took care of his parents as they grew older. He was a wonderful brother and uncle. He was patient, kind, and always had a great sense of humor. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Cedar Shoals Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Rumford officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Shoals Cemetery Fund, c/o Sarah Dixon, 5056 Richburg Road, Richburg, SC 29729.
