Herbert Dock Phillips

Lake Wateree Mr. Herbert Dock Phillips, 85, died Monday, August 21, 2023, at Prisma Health Richland. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Lake Wateree Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Winstead officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Dock was born May 30, 1938 in Fort Mill, SC and was a son of the late William Luther Phillips and Juanita Flossie Boone Phillips. He was a graduate of Fort Mill High School Class of 1958 and the Criminal Justice Academy of SC. Dock was a retired SC Highway Patrolman. He loved all sports and was an avid fisherman. Dock was a member of Lake Wateree Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandra McLendon Phillips; one daughter, Nitsa Barrentine of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Danielle Deese (James), Megan Barrentine and Rusty Barrentine all of Lancaster; one great grandson, Phillip Deese of Lancaster; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 17 brothers and sisters. Memorials may be made to Lake Wateree Baptist Church, 5856 River Rd., Ridgeway, SC 29130.
