Great Falls Mr. Herbert Lee Scott, 74, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 15, 2013, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Batchelor officiating.Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, July 15, at First Baptist Church, 606 Dearborn St., Great Falls, SC. Mr. Scott was born October 6, 1938 in Denmark, SC and was a son of the late Herbert Edward Scott and Ruby Grant Scott.He was a graduate of Denmark High School, served in the U.S. Air Force, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as Postmaster of Great Falls.Mr. Scott was a member of First Baptist Church.He enjoyed traveling the world by cruise ship and was an avid car enthusiast. He is survived by his wife of more than 36 years, Mary M. Scott; two daughters, Susan S. Hudgins and husband David of Centerville, Tenn. and Ronda Martin and husband Gil of Concord, NC; three sons, Phillip E. Jackson, Jr. and wife Lisa of Great Falls, Robert Scott and wife Heidi of Chicago, Illinois, and Jeff Scott and wife Wendy of Nashville, Tenn; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, John Scott of Denmark, SC; and three sisters, Judy Keough of St. Augustine, Fl., Mary Orlando of Jacksonville, Fl., and Jean Kerr of Porterville, Ga.He was preceded in deathby a son, Tony Scott.
